Optimal planning of battery energy storage systems in power systems

2021–2024An optimal BESS allocation strategy for weak grids with a high renewable DG penetration level, aiming to enhance system reliability and improve transient voltage and frequency stability was developed. The project also analysed the disparities introduced by the proposed optimal BESS planning approach in both balanced and unbalanced distribution networks, focusing on system reliability improvement and operational cost reduction.
